Driven by a curiosity for how language can drive social impact, Alex is a savvy and thoughtful communications strategist and copywriter.
Having launched her communications career with the NYC Department of Education, the largest school district in the nation with 1.1 million students, she became well-versed in the power of using captivating narrative to engage with the incredibly diverse families of the district. There, she refined her writing and strategy skills crafting high-level communications plans, working on video production and static graphic assets, and serving as a ghostwriter for former Chancellors Richard A. Carranza and Meisha Ross Porter. After some time at Junior Achievement of New York, she started working as a freelance communications consultant where she has been working with various clients committed to education and/ or equity.
Alex holds a B.A. in International and Global Studies from Brandeis University where she was a proud Division III fencer.
“Outside of the home office,” Alex is a foodie and musical theater enthusiast, heading to nearby Broadway for a show from her leafy suburb whenever she can. An avid traveler, she has explored the lavender fields in Provence, France, climbed Table Mountain in Cape Town, and snorkeled off the coast of Capri, Italy. Her favorite adventure of all has been the search for the best playground northern New Jersey has to offer with her young daughter, Charlie, and husband Joe.
